Safe & Supportive Schools: Introduction

Adleman and Taylor (2002), note that an extensive and growing body of literature indicates the relationship between a comprehensive student support program, student mental and emotional health, improved student attendance, and the academic success of the student in school.  The Safe and Supportive Schools element of SAS supplies resources and exemplars to promote active student engagement in a safe and positive learning environment.  Areas within the element include the following:  Engagement, Safety, and Environment.
